Book An Appointment

Randi is a Registered Social Worker in Alberta (#18240) and Ontario (#856002) with a special interest in providing inclusive and affirming counselling to 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals, couples, and families. As a queer therapist, Randi understands the importance of representation and holds space for clients to explore unique challenges related to their intersecting identities.

Randi has over 7 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults through mental health challenges in various community, inpatient/outpatient, and virtual settings. With an educational background in child development, Randi combines her knowledge of attachment theory and the impacts of trauma/adverse experiences on human functioning to meet clients where they are currently at.

Whether you are on a journey of healing, identity exploration, or navigating new life challenges, Randi aims to empower you with the tools and insights you are seeking to reach your personal goals.

Approach

Therapy can be intimidating - Randi strives to make the process approachable. Relationship building through humour, common connection, and compassionate curiosity is a guiding framework of her practice. Randi values a collaborative, strengths-based, and client-centred approach. You are the expert of your own life! Randi works from a holistic lens that incorporates all aspects of a person’s individuality into the therapy space. Using mindfulness and somatic-based techniques, Randi guides clients towards a better understanding of the connection between the brain, the body and personal history. Through a trauma-informed and integrated approach tailored to each client, Randi draws from several other modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Solution-Focussed Brief Therapy.

Specialization

2SLGBTQIA+ Concerns, Identity Exploration (i.e., Sexuality, Gender, Cultural), Trauma or Adverse Experiences (i.e., Childhood, Developmental, Intergenerational, Impacts of Racism and Normative Perspectives), Depression, Anxiety, Relationship and Family Dynamics, Eating Disorders, ADHD, Life Transitions and Stress.
